How Wood Destroying Organism Inspection Works

The Wood Destroying Organism Inspection Process

Interior and exterior checks lead to documented results.

1. Inspect
An inspector checks the interior and exterior of the property for signs of termites and other wood-destroying organisms. This includes foundation walls, crawl spaces, and visible wood.

2. Treat and Follow Up
Any activity or damage found gets documented. You receive a clear report for your transaction or renovation planning.

Johnathon was thorough, attentive and responsive. When we expressed that we had a newly discovered rodent problem, he treated with what he had and got results within 24 hours. We requested bait stations, snap traps and limited tracking powder.

Patrick showed up in a timely manner and was friendly and polite. He explained the procedures and what to expect. He was patient and wasn’t in a rush to get to his next appointment and he seemed to genuinely want to help solve my problem. I had a problem with bees and so far it seems that the treatment worked. I would use this company/Patrick again and would recommend to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wood Destroying Organism Inspection FAQs

What are the first signs of termites?
Common first signs of subterranean termites include mud tubes on foundation walls or other hard surfaces. You may also see swarming termites inside the home during active periods. If you notice either sign, BHB can inspect the property and explain whether termite treatment is needed.
BHB handles subterranean termites in New York and New Jersey. These termites move between soil and wood, so the inspection looks for signs that match how they behave around the structure. Findings help BHB recommend Sentricon, liquid treatment, or another termite service path.
If active termite activity is found, BHB may recommend Sentricon, liquid treatment, or a plan based on the property. Active mud tubes can call for above-ground Sentricon stations with monthly inspections until the colony is controlled. The final recommendation depends on what the inspection shows.
Termite treatment cost depends on the inspection and whether baiting or liquid treatment is needed. Liquid treatment can also depend on linear footage, drilling, trenching, pavers, and concrete around the foundation. BHB measures the property first so the quote matches the actual work.
BHB handles wood-destroying beetles on an inspection basis. The visit identifies the beetle type and the extent of the activity before treatment is planned. Wood-destroying and carpet beetle services are handled as single-visit treatments instead of the standard recurring pest plan.
