How Bed Bug Control Works

The Bed Bug Control Process

Inspection, treatment, monitoring, and verification work together.

1. Inspect
Every visit starts with a full inspection. A check covers cracks, crevices, furniture, headboards, mattresses, and box springs. Photos and notes get taken so the plan is built around the actual problem, not a generic list. Next, treatment covers wall voids and other hidden spots, including behind outlets, since bed bugs travel through these areas. Live and dead bugs, eggs, and casings get vacuumed from open surfaces. Everything collected gets sealed and thrown away off-site.

2. Treat and Follow Up
If needed, high-heat steam gets applied to furniture, mattresses, box springs, and baseboards. Then a product gets applied that keeps working after the visit. Monitors go on bed and furniture legs to track any activity that’s left. About 14 days later, a return visit follows for a follow-up treatment. Around day 30, a final check confirms the results. If any activity remains, a spot-treatment and another check follow.

Johnathon was thorough, attentive and responsive. When we expressed that we had a newly discovered rodent problem, he treated with what he had and got results within 24 hours. We requested bait stations, snap traps and limited tracking powder.

Patrick showed up in a timely manner and was friendly and polite. He explained the procedures and what to expect. He was patient and wasn’t in a rush to get to his next appointment and he seemed to genuinely want to help solve my problem. I had a problem with bees and so far it seems that the treatment worked. I would use this company/Patrick again and would recommend to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bed Bug Control FAQs

What does bed bug control service include?
Bed bug control starts with an inspection of mattresses, box springs, headboards, furniture, cracks, and crevices to locate activity. BHB documents what it finds and plans treatment for the affected areas, with steam used when needed. The program includes monitoring, a return treatment, and a final check for live activity.
Bed bugs may keep appearing when activity remains hidden in furniture, wall voids, or other narrow spaces, or when bugs arrive in belongings or from another unit. A careful inspection helps tell ongoing activity from a new introduction and shows which rooms need attention. BHB can check the signs and recommend the next treatment step.
Yes, BHB provides a preparation sheet if the inspection confirms bed bugs and treatment is needed. Preparation includes drying clothing and bedding for 30 to 40 minutes as garment labels allow, sealing treated items in clean bags, and clearing closet floors and shelves. The team will also explain when to move furniture three to six inches from walls.
BHB plans bed bug service after an inspection identifies where activity is present and what treatment is needed. The bed bug program includes two treatment visits about 14 days apart, followed by a final inspection around day 30 to check for live activity. The team will explain the preparation instructions and confirm the visit schedule with you.
Tell BHB if you find live bed bugs, new spotting, or shed skins between scheduled visits. Bed bugs can hide in furniture and tight spaces, so these details help the team focus its next inspection and treatment. At the final check, live activity calls for a spot treatment and another inspection under the bed bug program.
